Fresh and appealing Sicilian white from the indigenous Grillo grape. A ripe and spicy nose with floral and stone fruit characters. The palate has more honeyed stone fruit and savoury notes backed by fresh citrus acidity.
Grapes were sourced from vineyards in the coastal area of the western tip of Sicily – in Petrosino, Trapani and Marzara del Vallo areas. Vines are cultivated in chalky soils with sandy patches, and are of average age 20–25 years. Harvesting takes place late August / early September. After temperature-controlled fermentation for 30 days, the wine is filtered and bottled.
Particularly good with white fish, grilled octopus, plaice in sauce or chicken caesar salad.
